Editing at an Event

April 10th, 2019

Editing a video of your event at your event is a service that VideoWorks provides. Over the years, we have done lots and lots of event videography and one of the things is increasingly needed from our clients is to provide editing services on site so as to create a quick and short video that can be projected at the end of the day so as to give attendees a sense of the fantastic experience that was had.

To provide this service, it involves us providing videography services and editing services on site. Working together, the two teams will need to be in constant communication. One of our recent uses of this service was at the Aontas Leaner Forum in Croke Park. The client wanted to give attendees and the Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh T.D., an insight into what happened across the day.

Check out how successful the video was by watching the Minister’s response in the above video.

Get in touch now if you’d like both videography and editing services on site!

How Video Can Spread An Up-To-Date Message

February 25th, 2019

Case Study: Bord Bia

Is your industry changing? Are there challenges that need sharing? Is there a message you’d like to share? We believe video is the best way to get your message out there. Recently, we worked with Bord Bia to produce this video which focuses on how well the Irish food industry has been performing and what challenges they can expect to face in the months ahead. It features Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy and Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed TD.

With Brexit on the horizon, most businesses are finding that now, more than ever, it is important to keep consumers in the loop about upcoming changes in their sector. We have found that video is the most effective way to do this. A visual report is more likely to capture an audience than a long worded document. It’s a flexible medium which most businesses are now opting for in order to suit the needs of their target audience.

With the current boom in social media, it’s important to share your message in a way that is easily clickable and shareable. Make it as easy as possible for your audience to hear and engage with your message. Do it with video.

Crowdfunding Videos – A Case Study

January 2nd, 2019

Here at VideoWorks, we’ve seen an increase in the need for crowdfunding videos lately. The visual element really benefits the campaign as it is the most engaging and interesting way to showcase your idea.

So what makes a good crowdfunding video?

It’s really important to make a video long enough that it hits all your key point of information but short enough that viewers will stick with it til the end. Videos that tend to drag on will lose viewers and as a result, potential investors. We would say to aim for around the 3 minute mark.

Make your point

The video should have a clear opening, middle and conclusion. If your ideas are concise and coherent then potential investors are more likely to have confidence in your idea.

Show your idea in action

If possible, you should show what your business does and also what it could do if you are successful in crowdfunding. Viewers need to see where their money will go if they are going to become investors.

One of the most recent crowdfunding videos we’ve produced was for Hugh Cooney in Bleeperbike. His video incorporated all these elements and is the perfect example of how to showcase your business to potential investors.

Subtitles in social videos, why important?

December 19th, 2018

Subtitling is a key element to include when producing videos for social media. If you want users to watch your videos then it’s important to make it as easy for them as possible. By incorporating captions or subtitles into your video, you are increasing its potential reach, engagement and shareability. Not only does this make your videos accessible to viewers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing but also to foreign language speakers. If your language isn’t their first language, subtitles can help to solve any issues with accent or dialect! Our neighbours in Europe are well used to subtitling their content for export internationally but increasingly Irish social media marketeers are seeing the benefits of subtitling Irish content.

With well over 50% of video views taking place on mobile phones and tablets, it’s important to make videos easily viewable for people who can’t, for whatever reason, play the audio out loud, for example viewers on public transport or in noisy atmospheres.

On most social media platforms, videos will autoplay on mute as you scroll over them. Subtitles make a massive difference when it comes to grabbing the viewers attention in that spit second. Videos with captions encourage users to slow their scroll and engage.

We use subtitles across all our videos here at VideoWorks and would encourage you to do the same. Get in touch about a subtitling service now!

How Videos and Languages Connect?

October 26th, 2018

We have been working with the Languages Connect team for the last few months to produce a great series of videos on the importance of languages. Created by frequent collaborator The Post Primary Languages Initiative,  the Languages Connect project is a great awareness enterprise. They explore how learning a language can transform lives. We created a series of short documentaries featuring many fascinating professionals. They came from all different careers (such as Hugh Cooney, Sean Carolan, Megan McEvoy, Fiona Uyema and Ian McKinley), including dancers, engineers, lecturers and entrepreneurs who all have one skill in common, the ability to speak more than one language and do so in their line of work. These videos will be rolled out in secondary schools across Ireland to encourage young people to choose a language when planning their career path.

We got to see first hand how languages have taken people from their school desks to the rugby pitch, the lecture halls to the European Parliament and the relationships they’ve built along the way.

We’ve really enjoyed working with such a broad spectrum of contributors on this project and it’s great to see the finished product up on www.languagesconnect.ie now!

Increase Your Ranking Using a Great Video

May 4th, 2018

Videos can be a really powerful form of content, it can also make a significant contribution to a company’s search engine ranking. 64% of all internet traffic is made up of videos alone so featuring a video on your website can attract more views than a text heavy site. They don’t have to be movies with actors or special effects. Videos communicate so much visually that sometimes they don’t even need a script!

Building links and generating social shares is one of the best things you can do to improve your Google ranking. Viewers are more likely to engage with videos than they would with static content so tweets, retweets, pins, likes and shares, across the various social media platforms, help massively with boosting the site’s SEO. The more engagement your video creates, the higher up your page will rank.

When a potential customer finds your site, you have to impress them in the first few seconds or you’ll lose them. Get them engaged with what you’re selling through an eye-catching video. At Videoworks, we’re happy to chat to you about what video would work best for your business. Let us help boost your page by creating a it for you!

How can a training video improve business?

February 27th, 2018

Why does your organisation needs a training video?
Here at VideoWorks, we’re big fans of helping to improve businesses through the use of video! One of the most recents trends we’ve seen is the successful incorporation of training videos into the workplace.

Training videos are a great way tor businesses to scale their professional development strategy. Creating video can be a great way to share your message, through visual engagement. Your employees are therefore more likely to remember and respond to the training. The videos can also be accessed by employees whenever they need. They can also re-watch and take the time to fully understand the instructions. Another great thing about video is its ability to illustrate multiple types of training examples that can be difficult to replicate otherwise.

The use of instructional videos is also a much cheaper alternative to hiring a trainer each time. It greatly reduces training costs for the business as producing a video would only require a once-off payment. If you’d like to see how much it would cost to produce a training video for your business then get in touch with us here for a quote!

VideoWorks is a Dublin based video production company that provides high-quality video production to some of Ireland’s leading companies and educational organisations! In our experience, companies both big and small have used video to effectively engage their employees and make concepts stick. These days they don’t have to be very formal affairs, sometimes applying a creative approach to an instructional video can prove to be a perfect format to get your message across.  However a common mistake of ineffective training videos: Failing to find an adequate balance between entertainment, motivation and actual teaching. We would encourage you to contact us now to discuss the best strategy for creating the perfect video to communicate to your employees!

AONTAS CEN 10 -The Value of Community Education

December 19th, 2017

We had the pleasure of working with Aontas once again to produce this short video on the value of Community Education. We were delighted to help them mark the 10 year anniversary of the Aontas Community Education Network with a video that would be presented at the CEN 10: Sustaining Community Education Conference. We met with people from different walks of life who all shared the same educational experience. They were all keen to talk about how much they enjoy learning and np-skilling with the CEN.

The Community Education Network wanted to showcase their successes and the many benefits of community education over the past ten years. That’s where we came in! We really enjoyed meeting all the inspirational people involved.
